First and second reads focus on marketability and readiness for submitting to agents and/or editors.

This service includes reading your manuscript to focus on voice, dramatic scaffolding, character development, strength of story, and—perhaps most importantly—the work’s overall potential viability in a competitive book market.

It includes light annotation of text. For full-length manuscripts (more than 40,000 words) a report of 5-8 pages double-spaced is delivered. For manuscripts less than 40,000 words, a 3-5 page double-spaced report is delivered. One coaching session is included in each engagement to follow up on feedback and answer any questions.

Queries: As an agent I read thousands of pitches and have worked with tons of bestselling authors— hone your query/pitch to agents with a seasoned (and approachable) pro.

This package is a comprehensive and exclusive engagement that includes 12 coaching sessions with a customized focus tailored to your career and/or creative needs along with manuscript development from first read to second read. The goal of this package is to create a sustaining writing practice in a challenging book market, set realistic expectations for success, and create a polished book ready for submission to editors or agents (or be self-published).

Expert advice based on my years of experience as a successful agent will be provided in creating the optimal submission package to agents and/or editors.

Experience personal, private, face-to-face coaching in a cozy and relaxing environment at your own cottage in Chatham, NY! A totally customized retreat will be built around your short—or long-term creative goals. Retreats may include private yoga with certified teachers, massage and bodywork, shamanic healing work, and Qi Gong to compliment our coaching sessions and deepen your creative work. 

The life I am creating is dynamic and unconventional. I don’t always know what path to take, or where I will be led. I have learned that putting yourself first is the hardest thing known to womankind, and that forging your own path is an incredibly empowering and brave act no matter what that journey looks like.

Our farm is the center of where I derive my sense of calm and empowerment. The ‘rat race’ falls away here. My vision is to share this wild, authentic, and quiet place with writers, so that they may experience the knowledge that connecting with nature is connecting with Self. Through simply walking, learning to practice mindfulness, and being provided the opportunity to be in a safe and nurturing environment they may turn the focus of energy inward to their source, a place of boundless energy, love and creativity. 

As we develop our farm for this purpose, we offer our cottage in the quaint village of Chatham, NY for personalized coaching retreats.
